THE NEW BERGEN ACT 2009

An Act constituting New Bergen a sovereign and independent Principality.

WHEREAS the citizens and residents of the present Colony of New Bergen have of late made certain representations unto this House, to the effect that the said Colony should be now separated from the Kingdom of Hanover, and constituted a sovereign micronation in its own right; and this House is minded to grant the same:

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

1. The New Bergen Act 2007 is hereby repealed, without however effecting the validity and legality of any actions taken by right thereof.

2. The present Colony of New Bergen shall henceforth be named and styled the Principality of New Bergen, and the said Principality is hereby recognized by the Kingdom of Hanover as a sovereign and independent micronation.

3. King Alexander the First is and shall be the Prince and Sovereign of New Bergen. The said title shall not pass together with the Crown of Hanover, but rather to His Majesty's natural descendants, or to such others as the laws of New Bergen may designate.

4. The Kingdom of Hanover absolutely and permanently relinquishes all administrative, governmental, and law-making authority whatsoever in and over New Bergen, conceding it unto the said Prince and Sovereign, and unto such persons and organizations as the laws of New Bergen may designate.

5. Residents of the Principality of New Bergen shall retain their Hanoverian citizenship, provided that, within three weeks following the passage of this Act, they submit a declaration publicly anywhere on the national discussion forum.

6. It shall be the unquestioned right of New Bergen, as an independent state, to modify any of the provisions made for it in this Act, without the consent of the Hanoverian Parliament, or of any person or institution in the Kingdom of Hanover.
