Royal Ball is a Success!

The Royal Ball was a great success with many different people attending and a good time being had by all.

The ball room itself was magnificently made over for the event with a new danceball, a new floor new stained glass windows installed and new banners adorning the whole area. There was an excellent DJ playing a great selection of all the best hits.

The only mishap was the game Panic Ball malfunctioned and was taken out of the ball early. It worked a few times and people had a good time playing it, but it was unreliable.

Everyone had fun and is invited to the next ball.

New Bergen prepares for Royal Ball

His Majesty oversaw the last minute preparations for the ball this Saturday. The dance floor is ready, the procession is planned, the first invitations are sent, and the activities are ready!

The Royal Palace has been renovated for the gala event by the expert hand of none other than Wrath Crosby.

The doors open at 6:00 PM SLT.

Festivities will include:
* A quick procession by the Royal Family
* Dancing
* An avatar contest
* And a new game created just for this event called "Panic Ball"
* At 8:00 PM SLT the Royal family will retire to the Garden in the Sky

Colonial Council Created

Alexander, by the Grace of God of Hanover King, to all Our loving subjects, and whatsoever to whom these presents shall come, greeting.

WHEREAS We require the government to provide for the needs of the citizens,

NOW THEREFORE KNOW YE that We by Virtue of Our Royal Prerogative in that behalf and all other powers enabling Us so to do of Our special grace certain knowledge and mere motion by these Presents do for Us Our Heirs and Successors grant will direct and ordain as follows:

WE COMMAND That there shall be a body politic styled “Colonial Council” which shall consist of members styled “Colonial Ministers” who shall be appointed by writ of summons and serve at the good pleasure of the Crown. The highest calling of each Colonial Minister shall be the promotion of participation of the colonists and the attraction of the same.

LET IT BE KNOWN That each Minister shall speak with Our name in these matters when acting under the official banner of their Ministry and affixing to all official documents the seal of their Ministry.

WE COMMAND that each Minister shall have these powers:

• To appoint and dismiss officers to assist them in their duties
• To pay from the colonial treasure for those goods and services needed from within their budget
• To host various activities and events that further the promotion of the colony

EACH MINISTER so appointed will attend regularly scheduled colonial council meetings and to make such reports as may be needed available to the Sovereign.

In Witness whereof We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent WITNESS of Us at Our court at Gagarin palace this thirteenth day of January in the Year of Grace 2008, the Fifth year of Our Reign.

Gallery construction continues

His Majesty was glad to see the gallery continue to take shape. The innovation of a contemplation pool in the gallery was very interesting and His Majesty looks forward to seeing the rest of the building take form.

Gallery Begins to Take Form

\The Royal Art Gallery of New Bergen, a venue for young artists, is starting to take form. His Majesty is a patron of the arts and wishes to allow those in New Bergen the opportunity to see some of the very best that life (first or second) has to offer.

Univeristy Parcle Identified

The Colony has been in negotiations with a team of folks to assembly a University facility, and things have finally firmed to the point where His Majesty felt we could make the announcement in good faith that the project will proceed to success.

His Majesty has granted the use of a corner parcel to the project. This parcel is one of the more serene areas on the colony and has an ocean view on two sides.

The Royal Charter for the University has been drafted and should be accepted shortly at which point the Virtual University of New Bergen shall come into being.

Assembly Room Finished

His Majesty is pleased to announce the Assembly room, the final unfinished part of the Assembly building, has been completed. His throne has been installed, along with the Colonial Coat of Arms* and he is shown here testing it out.

This marks the completion of the civic government for the colony.

The first assembly meeting has not been scheduled.

Royal Art Gallery Comissioned

His Majesty commissioned the first Royal Art Gallery for New Bergen today. It will feature the excellent impressionist art work from Nox Pinion as its first exhibit. The gallery will be built in the merchant district and should be ready by the time the Royal Ball is held.
